The site streches from Agios Nikolaos Bay, NA Zakynthos, to Marathias Cape, S. Zakynthos. The steep west coast of the island is actually the foot of Brachionas Mount. The coastal line is dominated by vertical seaside cliffs, descending abruptly into the sea, with a vegetation of shrubs and phrygana. The rest of the area consists of rocky hills partly occupied by Pinus halepensis forests, and partly degraded and covered by shrubs or phrygana.
